Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest installment in the Animal Crossing franchise. Having only been out less than two months, the game has captivated the gaming community and has given rise to a whole new generation of fans. In fact, it recently became the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game of all time, and it shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

This game has single-handedly brought Animal Crossing back into mainstream relevancy. With so many new players populating the Animal Crossing community, Nintendo has begun to take notice. As a result, Nintendo is now selling officially licensed Animal Crossing: New Horizons merchandise online.
The merchandise includes hats featuring the faces of popular Animal Crossing characters, such as Tom Nook, K.K. Slider, and Isabelle. In addition to the hats, there are also Animal Crossing themed skins for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite. In contrast to those one thousand page guidebooks from various Japanese gaming outlets, it’s nice to see some official products from Nintendo.
These hats and Switch skins are likely only the beginning in terms of merchandise for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There is plenty of room for new products and items. There could be Animal Crossing shirts, backpacks, and pins potentially in the future. Perhaps an Animal Crossing shirt involving sea bass?
Nevertheless, it’s amazing to see how much this game has influenced people from around the world, no doubt thanks in some small part to the COVID-19 outbreak. It has gotten to the point where sports teams are using Animal Crossing as a way of unveiling their season schedules. Hopefully, this game continues to make people happy and bring people together long after the pandemic has ended.
