In addition to the new NPCs and features, there are a ton of new items in the game. A recent datamine found that there are over 9,000 new items to be discovered, so it will probably take some time before players find them all. Some new items are a little easier to come by, though — provided players have a healthy supply of Nook Miles available.

Many New Horizons Players Have Nook Miles To Spare

It’s been over a year since the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and there have been several updates to the game since then. New NPCs and items were added frequently with seasonal updates. However, one thing that’s stayed pretty consistent is what can be redeemed with Nook Miles through Resident Services. Additions have been few and far between.

Nook Miles are an essential currency that players earn by being active on their island. There are a ton of ways to earn Nook Miles, and it can take a while to build up a good supply. A lot of critical milestones can only be achieved through earning Nook Miles, such as obtaining terraforming permits and new apps for the Nook Phone.

That said, with no major updates in the past several months, veteran players haven’t had much to do with their Nook Miles. They’ve been slowly accumulating with no real purpose. Now, there are a ton of new ways to spend Nook Miles with update 2.0. Kapp’n’s boat tours cost 1,000 Miles each, and there are many new items that can be redeemed with Nook Miles. Players who have thousands of Nook Miles may find themselves running low for the first time in quite a while.

All the New Nook Miles Items

There are a ton of new physical items in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update that can be obtained with Nook Miles, and purchasing them all would cost tens of thousands of Miles. It’s a very good thing that players haven’t had much to do with their Nook Miles for the past several months, because they’re all going to go down the drain very quickly with the new update. Here’s a complete list of all the new items, along with how many Nook Miles they cost:

Fire hydrant - 1,000 Round streetlight - 1,000 Steel fence - 1,000 Steel trash can - 1,000 Triangular topiary - 1,000 Crosswalk signal - 2,000 Curved streetlight - 2,000 Flower bed - 2,000 Plastic bench - 2,000 Plain party-lights arch - 2,400 Plaza bench - 2,400 Round topiary - 2,400 Street lamp with banners - 2,400 Plaza arch - 3,000 Plaza clock - 3,000 Volleyball net - 3,000 Windmill - 3,000 Park fountain - 4,000 Pergola - 4,000 Plaza balloon wagon - 4,000 Azumaya gazebo - 5,000 Gazebo - 5,000 Inflatable plaza toy - 5,000 Plaza game stand - 5,000 Plaza train - 5,000 Plaza ferris wheel - 6,000 Plaza merry-go-round - 6,000 Storage shed - 6,000 ABD - 9,900

It’s also worth mentioning that many of the items that can be redeemed with Nook Miles have color variants. There are four different airport colors in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the airport color determines which items are available at the Nook Stop. The monster statue, for example, can be black, red, gray, or brown depending on which airport the player has. The same is true of many of the new items as well, such as the pergola and plaza items. To find other versions, players need to set up trades or visit giveaways.

The storage shed and ABD dispenser are two new items that have a special purpose. The storage shed can be placed anywhere on the island and allow the player to access their home storage on the go. The ABD dispenser has a similar function, allowing players to access their bank account without having to visit Resident Services. At 6,000 and 9,900 Nook Miles respectively, that convenience will cost players quite a bit. Several of the new items are costly, but having to save up or connect with other players to trade will help make the game replayable for months to come.
