Even though Nintendo has not announced future plans for the game, the content calendar of Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to run. Monthly and seasonal events still provide entertainment for players who jump onto their island every single day. What’s more, the recent free 2.0 update and the paid Happy Home Paradise DLC implemented a lot of new features and content, ensuring that the community will have lots to do while waiting for Nintendo to reveal the future of the Animal Crossing series.

Even though official Nintendo updates are scarce, this does not stop Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans like Reddit user tblampied from making their own content. In the forum thread they created, they posted a photo of the ACNH-themed custom keyboard they had built for their girlfriend. According to the Redditor, they used a specific keyboard brand, keycaps, switches, and lubricant to build the peripheral. They also shared that the whole set-up took around 6-8 hours to build, given they had to manually take apart and lubricate pieces to give the keyboard a premium feel. Tblampied clarified that the keyboard is not that customized, given that they did not produce any of the pieces, and only put them together to create the whole look.
This is not the first time that ACNH fans have built themed items to suit their everyday needs. Some have even gone so far as to re-create items found inside the game, such as the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Raccoon Wall Clock. This goes to show that the Animal Crossing series does have a heavy impact and influence on its community, so much so that fans want to have themed items as part of their daily lives.
For fans who want to replicate the custom keyboard for themselves, Redditor tblampied generously shared links to all the parts they used. Hopefully this will also inspire the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community to make their own gaming peripherals, so that they can have another piece of the game present in their real lives.
