From one player basing their town on Hyrule Castle from the Legend of Zelda series, to another making a Mario Kart 8 themed island, Animal Crossing players have the creativity and are more than willing to spend the time to make a unique island. One Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has departed from the Nintendo themed islands mentioned previously though, and has dedicated a portion of their island to fantasy RPG, The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3 may seem an odd choice for an Animal Crossing crossover at first, as the game can be quite dark at times, and is intended for mature audiences with plenty of the violence, gruesome monsters and sexual content that is often expected with games intended for older audiences. However, the game also has plenty of beautiful landscapes and scenery, as players of the game have been showing for years with tributes and videos, such as one that shows Geralt exploring each region of The Witcher 3. One Animal Crossing and The Witcher fan clearly saw the potential to create one of the more aesthetic areas of the latter game in their island.

Posting the video of their creation to Reddit, user u/ButIDigress79 showed off their version of Honeyfill Meadworks, a bee farm and estate located on the outskirts of Novigrad in The Witcher 3. Honeyfill Meadworks is associated with one of the many Witcher monster hunting contracts that can be found in the game, though it’s doubtful that the Animal Crossing version will have a hound of the Wild Hunt hiding away in the cellar.

Fans of Animal Crossing and The Witcher commented on the post showing their appreciation of u/ButIDigress79’s creation. Many Witcher references were made in the comments, with multiple mentions of the card game Gwent, which is playable as its own game and as a minigame in The Witcher 3. This is not the first time The Witcher 3 has crossed over into Animal Crossing: New Horizons though, and last week u/ButIDigress79 showed off the town they had created that would fit perfectly into The Witcher universe.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
