Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released during a time that many people were stuck at home. March 2020 was when the COVID-19 pandemic struck countries all around the world and lockdowns were strictly enforced to keep the virus from spreading. Given that most of the population was homebound, Animal Crossing: New Horizons provided a channel for family members and friends to still meet with each other, albeit online. Two years have passed since the game’s launch, and it is definitely not uncommon for players to have already amassed a large amount of in-game hours in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In a post on the Animal Crossing subreddit, user SSexyIsabelle shared a screenshot of one of their friends’ Animal Crossing: New Horizons gameplay hours. According to the image, their friend has already logged in more than 7,890 hours in the life sim. Funnily enough, SSexyIsabelle’s friend is still online in the game, probably adding in more hours to their game time. In the caption of the post, the Redditor seemed to humorously ask the community if those 7,800 plus hours is too many for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Most of the reactions on the Reddit thread expressed amazement and surprise at the player’s sheer amount of hours spent on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Some were a bit doubtful about the numbers, explaining that the player must be spending at least nine hours every day on the game to reach that kind of game time. Others shared their own experiences in spending time on ACNH, telling the community that they now felt better about the 500 - 1,000 total hours they have used up playing the life sim.

Unfortunately, SSexyIsabelle did not share the identity of their avid Animal Crossing: New Horizons friend. Many on the thread were curious about the kind of island a user had with over 7,800 hours of game time. Hopefully the Redditor’s friend will see the thread and share their Dream Address to help sate the curiosity of their fellow ACNH fans.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
