It is not hard to see why the game remains popular among artists, as it features a cast of adorable villagers living in a picturesque island setting. In fact, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has close to 400 unique villagers that can move to players’ islands. Recently, one player decided to create a unique piece of artwork that perfectly encapsulates the charming scenery of the game.

Over on Reddit, a user known as Deep_Character910 shared a video of a decorative Easter egg they had made for the holiday. Impressively, the creator had decided to paint the egg to reflect a landscape based on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In the clip, the Reddit user held the egg in their hand and slowly rotated it, revealing the images of a house, pink trees, and a stream. In addition, it featured the villager known as Zipper, who appeared to be waving.

In addition to showing off this artwork in a video, Deep_Character910 gave some more details about creating the egg in the Reddit comments. According to the artist, they used a real eggshell for the artwork. However, they revealed that a hole was made on both ends of the shell in order to remove the egg white and yolk from the inside. After this was complete, acrylic paint was used to create the detailed Animal Crossing: New Horizons vista.

Since Deep-Character910 posted this artwork, numerous members of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community on Reddit have taken notice. With over 4,200 upvotes in roughly a week, many liked the novel idea for an Animal Crossing-themed painting. “That’s the most adorable Easter egg I’ve seen!” Thoughtful_Lifeghost said on Reddit. In addition, a couple of fans appreciated the inclusion of the villager known as Octavian, who was fishing beside a stream in the painting.

While this Easter egg artwork is noteworthy, it is not the only impressive creation made by gamers in the past couple of weeks. For example, one player recently created a set of dioramas based on Animal Crossing villagers and the houses they live in. As gamers inevitably continue to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons, time will tell what artwork is shown off next by talented fans of the franchise.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
