Happy Home Paradise is the main reason that Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans are spending so much time as interior designers. The DLC content sees players taking on this role and making homes for various Villagers on vacation islands. While proper buildings like schools and hospitals also end up as tasks for the player, most of the time they will be working on a getaway home for one of the game’s adorable critters. One of the best things about this customization is the partitions, as it gives players more freedom when customizing specific areas of the homes.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are now able to place walls down inside the rooms they are customizing. This is a big deal, as players were previously only able to work around what they were given for a room. Now, they can split rooms into two, crafting two smaller areas instead of one large one. This provides a lot of options, and while many place the partitions directly in the center of a room, there are merits to setting them closer to one of the walls. As shown by Redditor Ancient_Research7, players can make walk-in closets with them.
On the right side of the room, the Redditor’s character can be seen looking at a bedroom. With a large rug, some big windows, and a few bits of clothing placed throughout, it looks like the player is fond of wearing fancy outfits in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As such, it makes sense for them to have a walk-in closet, which is exactly what they create using the partition. Inside the closet, racks and shelves of clothing can be seen, with various hats and shirts scattered throughout the room.
A particularly nice detail of Ancient_Research7’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons design is the different walls in the bedroom and walk-in closet. This makes the partitioned portion of the room truly feel like a separate part of the house. While the bedroom wall is covered in large windows, the closet is window-free. The trick to pulling this off was mentioned by Redditor seekingssri in the comments. Apparently, the player has two more partitions covering the back and left walls of the room.
While placing Animal Crossing: New Horizons decorations outside of houses has always been important, it is nice to see the game’s premium DLC expanding on the other aspects of customization. For those with a love for the game’s clothing, perhaps this walk-in closet will be worth recreating.
