Two years have passed since Animal Crossing: New Horizons was launched in 2020. Though Nintendo has completely forgone the title’s 2nd anniversary celebrations in 2022, the developers have given the community enough content through the Happy Home Paradise paid expansion and the free version 2.0 update. And even if Nintendo has no intention of further updating the life sim, the fans are keeping the love for the game alive through the wholesome content they regularly generate online.

To recreate a scene that many people experience in real life, Redditor Empty_Dumpty uploaded a short video clip of their in-game character speaking in front of what seems to be a retail store manager in the form of an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Gyroid. To solidify the scene, Empty_Dumpty placed a variety of fruit boxes in the small area to emulate a makeshift grocery store. TheRedditor also placed a Wallopoid in front of a counter with a cash register to make the whole scene feel more realistic. In the clip, the Gyroid can be seen moving in time with the background music, seemingly waving its arms angrily at the Redditor’s villager.

Even without context, and only with a short description in the title’s post, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community found it easy to relate to the situation. Many in the forum’s comments section found the video hilarious, while others pointed out that the clip pretty much summarized what it was like to work in the retail industry. Even though the Animal Crossings: New Horizons deserted island is a fictional setting, many players seem to like placing real-life situations even in their virtual lives.

With a whole range of Gyroids that can be found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the community has a lot of ways to produce creative content like Empty_Dumpty’s. With Nintendo seemingly focused on other titles in the production pipeline, it is likely that fan-generated content will fuel the activity and engagement within the ACNH community.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
