As yesterday was Mothers’ Day, there are still many unable to go and visit their mothers in person. To get around this, clever players have taken to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, joining their mothers in game on all sorts of fun adventures together.

Fortunately for players, social distancing is not a problem in Animal Crossing, with many choosing to go to the museum, the spa, or even just run around the island together with their mothers. The fact that Nintendo has created such a massive phenomenon in this game and given people the ability to stay together is amazing.
The Coronavirus pandemic has affected so many people in the world, and mothers in particular have had things rather rough. It seems that a day in celebration of these superstars was needed now more than ever, and it is wonderful to see all these sons and daughters giving thanks in the best way they can. These two seem to have a tradition of visiting museums together, and have definitely made the best of their situation.
In this case, Dad jumped in to help out with the decorating, and Mom was the host as everyone visited her island. Judging by how dark it is outside, it is safe to say that they probably spent a lot of time exploring the island and having fun together. Although a face to face meeting would certainly have been better, given the circumstances this is definitely incredibly heartwarming to say the least.
This player takes a different approach to the holiday, using the opportunity to pay respects to their late mother. The memorial is tucked away, somewhat hidden inside a heart shaped cliff. The time, effort, and care put into making this memorial is a true testament of love, and in the comments the creator clarifies that the dragonflies present in the memorial are in memory of her mother’s fascination with dragonflies. Of course, fans reacted with supportive and caring responses, as the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community as a whole seems to be rather wholesome and supportive of each other.
